Actor and music composer GV Prakash, currently immersed in multiple projects, recently took to his social media handle to announce a significant update regarding Vikram's upcoming film, Thangalaan. He revealed that he has completed the background score for the film and expressed excitement about the project. Directed by Pa Ranjith, Thangalaan features a stellar cast including Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, and Hari Krishnan. Set against the backdrop of the historic Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) during the early 1900s, the film promises to explore the untold stories of marginalized communities involved in the gold exploration in South India.

Studio Green and Neelam Productions are jointly backing Thangalaan, marking GV Prakash's maiden collaboration with Pa Ranjith. The film boasts of cinematography by A Kishor Kumar, co-writing by Tamil Prabha, and editing and art direction handled by Selva RK and SS Murthi respectively. With the background score completed, GV Prakash hinted at an imminent release of the film's trailer, promising a captivating glimpse into the epic tale.

Thangalaan is currently in its post-production phase, with the release date yet to be officially announced by the makers. Initially slated for a January 26 release, reports suggest a potential launch on August 15, coinciding with India's Independence Day, across multiple languages including Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
