Tickets for Kalki 2898 AD are selling like hotcakes; Booking site crashed!

Hyderabad: The tickets of Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD directed by Nag Ashwin are selling like hotcakes. Released on June 27, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani and Shobhana in lead roles.  

The film is making huge gains in advance bookings, and ticket booking platform Bookmy has reportedly crashed frequently due to heavy traffic in Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.Kalki 2898 AD is produced by Ashwini Dutt's Vyjayanthi Movies.

A few days ago, director Karan Johar had shared the second trailer of the film on his Instagram handle. “Looking forward to the biggest spectacle on the big screen. It has powerful and magnificent performances by my favorite artists in the film industry. Hit the theaters on June 27 wherever you are,” Karan Johar tweeted. 

Director Nag Ashwin also hinted at the story of Kalki 2898 AD which got the fans excited. The theme of Prabhas's Kalki 2898 AD will be set during the epic epic Mahabharata. It will end in 2898 AD and director Nag Ashwin Prabhas starrer has said that the story of the film will span 6000 years. Trade analysts had reported that actor Abhinav had said in an interview that Kalki 2989 AD will have nine parts.

The pre-sale business has reportedly crossed Rs 100 crore. On the opening day of booking, 281895 tickets were sold for 3775 shows. So far Kalki 2898 AD has collected 8.22 crores.
